South Branch Temple Stream, Lake Ohau, South Canterbury – on 22 November 2009 Dave Bell managed to capture a short clip of a very protective female falcon as she vigerously defended her nest that was just off the track. To view this footage click here.

Waiiti, North Taranaki – on 18 June 2010 Eric Kesler filmed a falcon plucking a Silvereye it had caught at Gavin and Sue Stilwell’s orchard Awatotara. To view this footage click here.

Kaimanawa Mountains, Taupo – Bob Ramsay captured great footage of a juvenile falcon, what is amazing about this clip is the very audible ‘begging/whining’ calls from the falcon. To view this footage click here.

Stony Tarn, Glenmore Station, Lake Tekapo – on 13 November 2010 Roelant Hofmans filmed a juvenile falcon perched on small rock, that only on close approach flew away calling. To view this footage click here.

Wairangi, Southen Wairarapa - in the early 1970's Bob Badland from Upper Hutt was hunting at Wairangi, in the Southern Wairarapa when he managed to film a juvenile falcon.  What is a very interesting side note is that Bob's son now hunts in the same area and NZ falcon are still present!  To view this footage click here.

North Branch Hurunui River, North Canterbury - on 22 October 2006 Graham Sutherland filmed an adult NZ falcon dive-bombing, a known nest was close by.  To view this footage click here.
